When LeakyCon announced the top three LeakyStars finalists today, they made an error in posting. They posted the 1st, 2nd, and 5th place videos as being finalists. After being notified of their mistake, they included the 3rd place video in the finalists as well, making it a top FOUR instead of three. 

As the fourth place video, I find it INCREDIBLY upsetting that because of LeakyCon’s error, a video that received less than half of the number of my votes is going to be a finalist while I am not. I was less than 40 likes from being in 3rd when the contest closed, and I somehow received another wave of votes after the competition ended to boost me into third once voting was done. Regardless, I was in fourth place. If they are going to include the fifth place video in the finals, they also need to include the fourth. It’s only fair.

If you would, please take a moment to email LeakyCon about this. Linda made a great video and definitely deserves to be a finalist; but as a semi-finalist who received more votes, I should also be receiving these perks. I would really appreciate it if my friends, followers, and just anyone who enjoyed the video would send an email pointing out the unfairness.

First off, congrats to the top three! It was exciting seeing the votes climb the past few days!

Now, this is a problem. I’m sure that it was just an accident that the 5th place got announced & not the 3rd place. Human error accounts for many of life’s problems. Obviously it wasn’t intentional because this is a public competition. However, it IS public competition and it is very apparent that a mistake has been made.

In my opinion, 5th place shouldn’t be considered ‘top four’ if 4th place isn’t.

Options:

• Issue a formal apology and have it be the top 3 be the top 3, as the rules state.
• Have the top 3 in the running and the rest of the semi-finalists be honorary mentions. Give the top three the promised free registration & preforming on the mainstage. Let the other semi-finalists have the opportunity to preform but don’t give them the free registration.
  
  
• Have top 5 be given the same equal status as what was originally promised to the top 3.
• Other?
